Kirsty Mitchell Photography: Wonderland
I´m really impressed by the work of Kirsty Mitchell, especially of her Wonderland-series which she began in 2009 out of grief for her mother. She says that working on that project absolutely changed her life and "this escapism grew into a concept of creating an unexplained storybook without works." At that time Kirsty Mitchell worked as a fashion designer and with a very small budget she tried to create her "Wonderland" together with hair and make-up artist Elbie Van Eeden. With her pictures she wants to remind other of the forgotten beauty and magic and the characters are also faded memories of stories her mother had read to her when she was a child.
I think the pictures are so stunning and the story behind is so full of love, so you should definitely jump over to her website as well in order to discover all of her pictures - each of them a work of art on its own.
