Guest Blog: Fantastic Vintage Spaces
Susi here, from Arcadian Lighting blog, a great resource for design and lighting trends stop by and say hello! I'm so excited to be writing about vintage spaces today because it fits right in with my style. Vintage is a hot, hot, hot design trend right now. Maybe it is the economy making us rethink all brand new furniture and accessory purchases; or maybe we are tired of the cookie-cutter sameness of showroom furniture. Whatever the reason, adding vintage finds in lighting fixtures, furniture and accessories, makes for fantastic design and fantastic vintage spaces. Here are some of our favorite vintage inspired spaces. Enjoy!
This fantastic vintage bedroom mixes vintage pieces from different styles and eras. Love the vintage modern table at the end of the bed and the framed panels of vintage wallpaper flanking the headboard.
Mixing vintage and rustic elements gives this living room a handcrafted vintage feeling that feels very contemporary. Reupholstering the mid-century modern sofa with button-tufted velvet makes it feel fresh.
A dining room/library is full of vintage charm with pieces from different eras and styles. Mixing Tulip chairs and a Capiz shell lighting fixture with an antique dining table equals big vintage style.
Mixing vintage modern with other vintage pieces creates a space that is glamorous and chi rather than purist modern. Love the black painted faux bamboo armchair paired with the Tulip side table.
Vintage accessories and art can add vintage style to any dcor. Look for vintage maps and globes, books, toys and textiles to add vintage accents to your room.
Vintage modern designs work well in this contemporary white space. Clean lines and classic modern designs give this living room a cool, hip vintage feel. Pairing with ceiling fixture to create some mood at night.
Vintage industrial pieces mix with more traditional vintage designs in this stylish living room. The vintage industrial pieces, like the lamp and clock, are stylish and functional.
Nate Berkus's former Chicago apartment effortlessly mixes vintage and new into a very stylish design from the rug on the floor to the contrasting lamps. This living room has a vintage feel that is fresh and modern.
